The popular Championship of Online Poker (COOP) tournament returns to the US courtesy of PokerStars this month, with the operator running forms of the series across all three states in which it currently operates: Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

From September 10 through September 27, PokerStars NJ will run the NJCOOP, aka the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker series, with $1 million guaranteed across 60 events.

PokerStars MI and PokerStars PA will run their MICOOP and PACOOP series across their respective states, and will do so concurrently with their counterparts in New Jersey. PokerStars is offering a combined $4.5 million in prize guarantees across the three markets.

PokerStars is having its premier series brand return to US markets as three series, one for each market it operates in, as its World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) runs around the globe.

There are 190 events scheduled across the three series, with each featuring a $300 buy-in Main Event.

Players in all three states will only be playing against other players from their home states. Of the three, the PACOOP series is expected to draw the largest number of players, largely because it includes the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia metro areas.

The NJCOOP 2021 schedule currently includes 60 events, including poker formats such as NLH, PLO, 5 Card Draw, FLH, Mixed Games and more on the schedule.

The series will have $1 million in guaranteed prize pools on offer, with buy-ins ranging from $10 for the affordable events and $1,000 for the high-roller tournament.

The marquee event of the NJCOOP series is a $300 buy-in Main Event, which is scheduled for September 26 and comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000. That prize is less than the $150,000 at the same Main Event at MICOOP and the $200,000 on offer at PACOOP.

There will be seven trophy events, including the Main Event. Special trophies will be awarded to the winners the $100 Big Kickoff, the $250 NLH Super Tuesday event, the $1,000 NLH 6-max High Roller, the $300 8-game championship, the $300 NLH championship event and the $250 PKO Thursday Thrill.
