New Jersey online casinos generated $259.3 million in August, a 4.4% increase from a year earlier but the market’s weakest annual growth rate in the state’s reported iGaming history. The result was down 6.4% from July’s record $276.9 million, though it extended the state’s run of monthly online casino revenue above $250 million to 11 months.
The state Division of Gaming Enforcement put Internet Gaming Win at $259.3 million, compared with $248.4 million in August 2025. As we reported in August, July had set a new monthly record after New Jersey’s online casino market recorded three consecutive months above $270 million.
EliteSportsNY said the 4.4% rise was the lowest year-over-year growth rate in the DGE’s iGaming data series, which dates to 2016. Every previous month this year had produced annual growth of at least 11.6%, including a 12% increase in July. August 2025, by comparison, had recorded a 25.2% increase from the preceding year.
The slowdown was broad, with nine online casino operators reporting less revenue than in August 2025. FanDuel Casino nevertheless remained market leader, taking $56.7 million, or 21.9% of the total, despite a 0.7% annual decline. DraftKings Casino ranked second with $43.5 million, down 7.5% from a year earlier.
Several rivals posted faster growth from smaller bases. BetMGM was third with $35.1 million, up 7.8%, while Borgata generated $20.6 million, unchanged from a year earlier. Caesars Palace took $19.3 million, up 6.8%, and Hard Rock Bet brought in $15.2 million, a 13.3% increase.
Fanatics generated $13.1 million in August, up 30.7%, and its $106.4 million in revenue through eight months was more than double its comparable 2025 total. Golden Nugget, BetRivers, bet365, Resorts Casino and Mohegan Sun also reported annual gains, while newer Caesars-affiliated brands each contributed smaller amounts.
Year-to-date Internet Gaming Win reached $2.13 billion through August, up 13.2% from $1.88 billion over the same period in 2025. Online casino activity generated $57.7 million in August tax revenue and $473.4 million year to date.
The broader New Jersey gaming market declined in August. Combined gaming revenue was $615.7 million, down 4.1% year over year, as Atlantic City casino win fell 5.5% to $294.9 million and sports wagering revenue dropped 25% to $61.4 million. James Plousis, chair of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, said the iGaming gain was insufficient to offset the decline in in-person casino revenue.
Despite August’s deceleration, the eight-month average of $266.2 million implied roughly $3.19 billion in online casino revenue for 2026, above the $2.91 billion recorded in 2025. EliteSportsNY said that maintaining the current annual growth rate would instead produce about $3.29 billion, while cautioning that August could signal slower growth through the remainder of the year.
