As part of its strategic expansion plans, PointsBet has partnered with popular Native American golfer Notah Begay III, who will serve as a long-term ambassador for the brand and a link between PointsBet and its media partners at NBC Sports and the Golf Channel.

In addition to his role as a link to media partners, Begay should also support the Australia-based bookmaker’s diversity initiative and help extend the partnership between PointsBet and various tribal communities across the country.

PointsBet said Begay’s extensive expertise will be used by the operator to attract golf bettors and keep their business, with Begay set to help create unique and high-quality golf content that other sports betting operators cannot match.

At this time, PointsBet is the leader for golf betting in the US. It has a variety of strategic partnerships, including with the PGA Tour, GolfPass, GolfNow, NBC Sports’ Predictor and the Rocket Mortgage Classic, as well as several local golf associations.

The operator continues its efforts to expand across the country, with a recent launch of the PointsBet NJ online casino being one of the latest steps taken in this direction. The operator launched its sportsbook in the Garden State in 2019. It also operates sportsbooks in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan.

Outreach to Tribal Communities

In addition to their partnership with Begay, PointsBet will also collaborate with his NB3 Foundation, which gives the operator a unique opportunity to reach out to Native American communities nationwide and have a meaningful impact on them.

The NB3 Foundation is dedicated to helping Native American communities by providing their children with culturally centered programs that help them have healthy and active lives without forgetting about their heritage and roots.

“We at PointsBet are thrilled to partner with Notah and continue to build upon our expertise in the game of golf,” said PointsBet US CEO Johnny Aitken. “Notah’s incredible knowledge of the game and his unique relationships across the country will serve our company and our customers, and ensure we are the premier sportsbook for golfers everywhere. This partnership also provides PointsBet with a genuine connection to NB3 Foundation and ensures we are playing an appropriate role in the communities in which we operate.”

Begay: An Extensive Career

Notah Begay III is the only full-blooded Native American player on the PGA Tour and a four-time PGA Tour winner with an extensive career as both a golfer and sports analyst.

Currently, Begay works as an analyst for NBC Sports and the Golf Channel. His achievements include becoming the third player to ever shoot a 59 in a PGA Tour event and reaching the Top 20 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

“It’s with great excitement and anticipation that I pursue this new venture in collaboration with PointsBet,” Begay said. “I look forward to standing alongside a company that truly understands the unique and intrinsic values of golf but also recognizes the importance of community. Creating new opportunities and making an impact in the communities we serve will be the benchmark of our team.”
