PokerStars NJ drew more than 10,000 entries to its New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP) series this month and awarded more than $1.1 million to the winners.

In total, there were more than 54,000 players who registered to play in COOP series in the three states where PokerStars operates. Combined, winners in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania were awarded more than $5.27 million.

Players in Michigan and Pennsylvania took home more prize money. PACOOP awarded more than $2.38 million while MICOOP gave about $1.79 million in prizes.

The 60-event NJCOOP attracted 10,598 entries and awarded $1,105,230.80. The series’ first event, the NJCOOP Warm Up, was also the most popular entry-wise: 535 players registered to play in the No Limit Hold’em (NLHE) on September 10 with a $10 buy-in and $5,000 guaranteed. The event was an overlay won by “GHOSTBX70,” who took home $811.11.

The event with the biggest prize pool was also an overlay. NJCOOP’s Main Event on September 26 had $100,000 guaranteed with a $300 buy-in. It attracted just 334 players, including “sri100k,” who won $18,660.45. It was the biggest prize of the series, but just barely—“Stonniepokes” took home $18,142.99 after winning the $1,000 NLHE 6-Max High Roller on September 15, another overlay event where $40,000 was guaranteed.

Eighteen NJCOOP events had overlays

Eighteen of the 60 events at NJCOOP had overlays. Aside from the three aforementioned events, the others with overlays were:

  • Event #5, Sept. 11: $300 NLHE 6-Max, $22,500 guaranteed (gtd);
  • Event #6, Sept. 11: $75 NLHE 6-Max Turbo Zoom, $12,500 gtd;
  • Event #7, Sept. 12: $200 NLHE 8-Max Deepstack, $25,000 gtd;
  • Event #8, Sept. 12: $150 NLHE 8-Max Progressive KO, $20,000 gtd;
  • Event #10, Sept. 12: $30 NLHE Mini Sunday Special, $12,500 gtd;
  • Event #11, Sept. 12: $100 PLO 6-Max, $7,500 gtd;
  • Event #14, Sept. 13: $75 PLO8 8-Max Re-buy, $10,000 gtd;
  • Event #29, Sept. 18: $100 NLO8 8-Max, $6,000 gtd;
  • Event #31, Sept. 19: $100 NLHE Marathon, $10,000 gtd;
  • Event #33, Sept. 19: $150 NLHE 6-Max Progressive KO Big Antes, $20,000 gtd;
  • Event #35, Sept. 19: $200 NLHE Progressive KO, $25,000 gtd;
  • Event #47, Sept. 24: $200 Fixed Limit Hold’em (FLHE) 6-Max, $6,500 gtd;
  • Event #53, Sept. 26: $50 NLHE Mini Main Event, $22,500 gtd;
  • Event #54, Sept. 26: $100 NLHE 6-Max Win the Button, $10,000 gtd; and
  • Event #56, Sept. 26: $75 NLHE 6-Max Hyper-Turbo, $8,500 gtd.

Two players won three NJCOOP events

“Stonniepokes” and “sri100k” were among seven NJCOOP winners who took home championship trophies. The others included “monkeyman067,” who won $5,186.56 in the $100 NLHE 8-Max Big Kickoff with a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool on September 11; “kyleorto86,” who took home $8,350.39 by winning the $250 NLHE Super Tuesday event with $35,000 guaranteed on September 14; and “MisAnnthr0pe,” winner of $5,829.21 from the $300 8-Game event on September 17, where $15,000 was guaranteed.

The sixth and seventh trophies went to “ISlowRollYou,” who won $10,561.03 from the $300 NLHE where $50,000 was guaranteed on September 19, and “wxg1989,” who took home $7,904.91 in prize money from the $250 NLHE 8-Max Progressive KO Thursday Thrill event with $30,000 guaranteed on September 23.

Two players, “MisAnnthr0pe” and “cncly1314,” each won three NJCOOP events. Eight players, including “kyleortor86,” “monkeyman067” and “Stonniepokes,” each won two events.
