Just weeks following the Main Event of the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOOP) series, PokerStars NJ is once again offering a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool to tournament players in the New Jersey Classic.
The exciting tournament will have the same $300 buy-in as the aforementioned Main Event, along with a similar two-day structure that players seemed to be very satisfied with.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at 5 pm ET on Sunday, October 24. Day 2 will take place on the following day.
PokerStars NJ last ran the New Jersey Classic in early April. The operator also had $100,000 in guaranteed prize money up for grabs in that series.
PokerStars is running similar series on the same days in the other two states where it operates: Michigan and Pennsylvania.
In order to play in the New Jersey Classic, players will need to be within the borders of the Garden State, but players from neighboring states are welcome to visit and enter the event.
It is important to note that while the Classic does come with a relatively high buy-in fee, PokerStars USA is offering several extra ways to enter it without having to pay the buy-in in full.

PokerStars has organized a number of alternative ways to play in the New Jersey Classic. The first is through the operator’s massive $15,000 Depositor’s Freeroll, in which 50 direct entries to the tournament will be given away.
To enter the Depositor’s Freeroll, you will need to deposit $30 or more into your balance and use promo code CLASSIC21 when doing so. The Freeroll ticket will immediately be added to your account.
If you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket, more entries are available through regular buy-in satellites, which began on October 12 and start at $15, as well as special $3 Spin & Go’s which will award 2,500 tickets into the event.
Keep in mind that new players at PokerStars NJ can also get $50 in Free Play for playing just one hand of cash game poker, as well as a valuable $600 deposit bonus on their first virtual visit to the poker room.
PokerStars builds momentum following NJCOOP
The New Jersey Classic comes just weeks after the end of the NJCOOP, a massive tournament series that the operator held with great success.
NJCOOP saw 60 events draw more than 10,600 entries, with more than $1.1 million given away in prizes across the events.
The NJCOOP Main Event featured the same buy-in, structure, and guarantee as the New Jersey Classic. The online player “sri100k” won a championship trophy and more than $18,600. A similar first place prize will likely be given away to the winner of the New Jersey Classic.
Not only did NJCOOP bring some great tournament action to the state, but it also gave players a chance to make a name for themselves, with several double winners and one triple winner in “cncly1314” who was the big name of the Championship.
