A player identified simply as “Dori B.” recently jumped into some MGM Grand Millions slot action after seeing the progressive jackpot tick up above $3.5 million and hit the biggest score of her life, as well as the biggest casino score ever awarded in the US.
The previous record was $3.2 million, awarded by BetMGM Casino in 2020, so the new $3.5 million prize sets a new standard for casino wins in the US. The progressive jackpot is available to players playing in-house, exclusive slot games, such as MGM Grand Millions, and is touted by BetMGM as the biggest progressive jackpot network in the United States.
Borgata, which operates in the US with partners BetMGM and partypoker, operates three online casino properties in New Jersey: Borgata Casino NJ, BetMGM Casino NJ, and PartyCasino NJ. Between the three skins, the Borgata brands hold the top spot in the New Jersey casino market, a spot it has held onto since May of this year.
In October, the most recent month data is available from New Jersey, the Borgata brands held a bit more than 30% of the marketplace with revenue of nearly $38 million. That was more than $3 million ahead of its closest competitor, Golden Nugget, which posted about $34.5 million in total revenue for October.
