Louisiana State University (LSU) Athletics, one of the leading college athletics programs in the country, has named Caesars Sportsbook as its first-ever official sportsbook partner.
The partnership between the Power Five athletics department and Caesars Sportsbook was facilitated by Playfly Sports, which acts as the third-party media rights holder for LSU.
The alliance will focus on providing fans and LSU alumni with unique engagement opportunities, while also promoting responsible sports gaming.
“LSU Athletics programs have always exemplified excellence, and at Caesars, we couldn’t be happier to partner with such an iconic brand in college athletics,” said Chris Holdren, co-president of Caesars Digital.
“We have a proud legacy in Louisiana, and bringing LSU fans and alumni closer to the sports they love while also offering scholarship opportunities will help us build upon that.”
Caesars gets presence in Tiger Stadium
The partnership agreement will allow Caesars Sportsbook to access a plethora of marketing resources from LSU Athletics. To begin with, the betting operator will have the naming rights to the Caesars Sportsbook Skyline Club at Tiger Stadium, as well as signage throughout the stadium at all home games.
Additional signage will be made available to Caesars Sportsbook at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, Alex Box Stadium and within the LSU Sports Mobile App.
The deal will also include exclusive broadcast and digital sponsorship rights for Caesars Sportsbook, along with additional visibility for the operator at all of LSU’s 21 sports programs.
Caesars Sportsbook customers will have the opportunity to attend LSU Athletics events and access VIP hospitality by winning such perks through Caesars Sportsbook’s popular Caesars Rewards program.
Caesars Entertainment already has a major foothold in Louisiana, with renovations and re-branding of the Harrah’s New Orleans to Caesars New Orleans and Isle of Capri Lake Charles to Horseshoe Lake Charles in the works.
The operator has also recently obtained the naming rights to the NFL’s New Orleans Saints. Its iconic stadium in New Orleans will now be called the Caesars Superdome. That agreement and other moves illustrate how Caesars wants to be the sports betting leader in Louisiana.
LSU gains financial support, scholarships
The partnership agreement will see Caesars Sportsbook provide a substantial financial commitment for the LSU Athletics program, along with annual scholarships for select LSU students.
The scholarship will be aimed at Louisiana natives attending LSU, benefiting those pursuing majors in sports administration, commerce and leadership. The program will not only help students but also secure a bright future for the LSU Athletics program.
“As a proud partner of LSU Athletics, we are focused on creating innovative partnerships to engage sponsors and unlock meaningful new revenue sources,” said Michael Schreiber, founder & CEO of Playfly Sports. “Given the interest in and access to gaming, we are excited to responsibly bring Caesars Sportsbook and LSU together.”
With legal sports betting in Louisiana right around the corner, all adults in the state will soon be able to sign up with the Caesars Sportsbook app on their phones, gaining access to a wide range of sports betting options and other entertainment.
