FanDuel is expanding its offering in the Garden State with a standalone casino product with the FanDuel brand. The official launch occurred on July 27, with New Jersey players now able to access the casino through Android, iOS and desktop.

Before now, players got exclusive access to the online casino through the sportsbook app. That has all changed, and there is now the opportunity to enjoy the games through the dedicated online casino app.

FanDuel Casino exists in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia. FanDuel is a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment, which owns other major brands in the industry, including as Paddy Power and Betfair.

What to Expect

Players can sign up for a new account at FanDuel Casino or use their existing sportsbook or fantasy credentials to access the product. It has the same slick blue and white design and the platform is easy to use. Players that already have the sportsbook app can still access the casino through the sportsbook app or choose the new standalone app.

Bonuses and promotions are also on offer, including a welcome package and game of the week. In terms of titles in the catalog, players can enjoy a broad range of slots, as well as video poker. Plus, there are the classic table games, including blackjack, roulette and baccarat.

Over the last few years of operation in New Jersey, the casino products from the FanDuel Group have had a few transformations. When FanDuel initially launched its sportsbook, players were redirected to the Betfair casino to enjoy that product. However, after the acquisition of the legendary Stardust brand in 2020, it replaced the Betfair product.

Today, the FanDuel Casino and Stardust Casino operate side-by-side in New Jersey. Players can access each site with their FanDuel login details and enjoy similar but slightly different experiences.

With the Stardust and FanDuel brands, the company has solidified its position in the New Jersey online casino market

FanDuel is currently running a promotion where new customers can play their first day risk-free for up to $1,000. The maximum refund is $1,000, with a 24-hour bonus period beginning when players make their first real money wager from their casino account.

Under the promotion, no bonuses less than $5 will be awarded and bonuses will be issued as site credits. The credits will be automatically applied within 72 hours of completing the net loss period. Bonuses expire seven days after receipt.

FanDuel in New Jersey

FanDuel first made its name in fantasy sports. While daily fantasy sports helped make the FanDuel brand famous, the company received an opportunity for additional success once sports betting became legal in 2018. FanDuel became the top earner in New Jersey shortly after it launched its sportsbook.

The operator attributes its success to several factors. The merger with Paddy Power and Betfair brought some invaluable expertise in customer service, technology and marketing at a crucial time. Another factor was geography—FanDuel initially ran its main retail location out of Meadowlands Racing. Being located outside Atlantic City and close to New York meant it had less competition and a wider potential audience.

FanDuel later expanded to include a sportsbook retail location at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino, giving it even more opportunities. Its land-based partner in the city for the casino license is Golden Nugget Casino Atlantic City.

There is speculation that Flutter may be interested in spinning off FanDuel. Last March, the parent company confirmed media reports that it was considering an IPO in the US for a small stake of FanDuel but added that “no decision has been made at this time.”

When FanDuel CEO Matt King abruptly announced his resignation in May, Flutter conceded that the timing of his departure would affect the timing of a potential IPO. But Flutter made no mention of such a move when it announced on July 12 that it had appointed Amy Howe as interim CEO at FanDuel.
