TwinSpires has launched its online sportsbook and casino games in New Jersey.

According to parent company Churchill Downs Incorporated, the Garden State will become the eighth US state with a TwinSpires Sportsbook, but it will be just the third state to have the TwinSpires Casino product.

“As the official wagering partner of the Kentucky Derby, many sports fans in New Jersey will already be familiar with the TwinSpires brand and its long history with the greatest two minutes in sports,” said Ben Murr, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Churchill Downs.

“We are excited to leverage nearly 150 years of wagering history within the United States to offer New Jerseyans our state-of-the-art online sports betting and iGaming products, promotions and offers.”

Other states with TwinSpires Sportsbook are Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. TwinSpires Casino is also operating in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

As the brand continues to grow in popularity, we can expect TwinSpires to launch its online gambling products in even more states, especially as iGaming becomes regulated in further jurisdictions.

Generous bonuses for new players

TwinSpires’ NJ products are coming out of the gate hot, as the operator is giving away some of the best online bonuses in the industry.

New sportsbook customers at TwinSpires can receive up to $1,000 in bonus bets, easily beating any competitors in size and value of the welcome bonus.

New players who decide to join in and play at the TwinSpires online casino will also have access to $500 in risk-free casino play, available for a 24-hour period.

Combined, the welcome bonuses present some of the best value in all of New Jersey online gambling, which is sure to attract plenty of players to the platforms in its early weeks.

What is TwinSpires?

If you have not yet heard of TwinSpires, it is probably because you are not into betting on horse races, as the operator has put most of its focus into the equine segment of the online gaming industry.

TwinSpires is a brand owned by Churchill Downs Incorporated and has been in operation since 2007, offering pari-mutuel betting. In that time, TwinSpires has become the official betting partner of the Kentucky Derby, the most-watched horse race of the year in the US.

With the repealing of PASPA and the legalization of online sports betting throughout many states, TwinSpires started partnering with live gambling operators in a number of states to offer online sports betting products as well.

To expand even further, TwinSpires has now entered into a number of partnerships to offer online casino games, including the one in New Jersey. Casino products are also offered in Pennsylvania and Michigan, and all three casinos offer dozens of different casino games, along with a selection of valuable bonuses and promotions.

Tough competition in the NJ online casino market

TwinSpires will face stiff competition from many rivals in both the online sportsbook and online casino verticals.

Three sportsbooks in partnership with Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment — FanDuel, PointsBet and SuperBookwere tops in sports betting in October, according to data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE). DraftKings, FOX Bet NJ and Barstool also fared well that month in the vertical.

In terms of online casinos, NJDGE data show operators on the Borgata license — BetMGM Casino NJ, Borgata Casino NJ, Pala and partycasino NJ — led the field in market share and revenue.
