Borgata Online’s average daily active players rose 28% in the third quarter compared with February, before BetMGM relaunched the casino brand in New Jersey and Pennsylvania on July 3. The measure covers both states, rather than New Jersey alone.
The increase followed a redesign aimed at updating account tools, rewards features and game navigation. PlayNJ first reported the third-quarter comparison on Oct. 16, describing a unified Rewards Hub and an account centre that brings bonuses, playable funds and withdrawable balances together.
The Rewards Hub combines promotions, Borgata Rewards Points and MGM Rewards tier status. BetMGM said the relaunch catalogue contained 4,000 games, including 250 exclusive titles.
A player also won $1,034,194 on a $4 spin of Quantum Crown MegaJackpots on Sept. 29. The win was announced alongside the player-growth figure, and BetMGM senior vice president of gaming Oliver Bartlett said the operator had focused since the relaunch on exclusive games, enhanced rewards and bigger jackpot opportunities.
The player metric does not directly correspond to revenue reported by New Jersey regulators. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement recorded $5.3 million in internet-gaming win for BetMGM’s Borgata operation in August, down 31.6% from a year earlier, while its year-to-date win through August rose 9.4% to $54.5 million. The agency classified BetMGM as a joint-venture brand operated under an arrangement with Borgata.
Statewide, New Jersey internet gaming win reached $259.3 million in August, up 4.4% year over year, and totalled $2.13 billion through the first eight months, a 13.2% increase. Borgata has participated in the state’s legal online casino market since 2013 and has contributed more than $250 million in New Jersey tax revenue since 2015, according to BetMGM.
